Brands are starting to realise the importance of this channel and are looking for real numbers to back up the claims of agencies and social media experts.
The continued growth of content will affect how people use and interact with social media and the beands using it. And now that we can collect more specific and individual data through social media, this content will become even more effective.

Though the definition of social TV does expand beyond second screening to the advancement of technology in our TVs themselves and the interaction with programming, it still often relates to how consumers use their tablets and mobiles while watching traditional TV programming.
With the rise of video in 2013, it is only natural that we will continue to look at our relationship and interaction with all of our devices. As the use of mobile while watching TV is steadily increasing, 2013 may bring more overlapping content that moves beyond advertising.

YouTube is the most social of Google’s channels. `if you’re targeting niche markets, it can work well to drive targeted traffic to your site, for fairly low cost.
So much has changed on YouTube in recent months that it’s really worth another look for PPC.
It's also fairly straightforward: the hardest part is creating the video. Even that can be simpler than you think. You don’t always need a professional videographer, or a huge budget.
If you choose the right format and targeting method, simple things like customer testimonials, information and instruction videos can work really well.

Facebook's drive to monetize its massive user base has caused Instagram's first major backlash. Upset with changes to Instagram's terms of service which would allow the company to leverage user data and content in ads, vocal Instagrammers rose up and said "That's not cool!"
While it remains to be seen whether this Instagram backlash has a short half-life, things could get worse for the world's largest social network next year if it rolls out News Feed video ads.

With all the recent changes to our favorite (or not so favorite) social networks with Facebook covers, Twitter header images and YouTube branded channels, businesses have had to redesign their images and rethink of how they represent themselves visually online.
This gave way to a lot of new creative campaigns on Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest but is has led to a lot of social media managers scrambling to get the images just right.
