I am a communications professional with high-level experience in content strategy and creation; B2B, employee communications; digital engagement; research, insights and planning – and filmmaking.
I began my career in television, as a documentary maker in specialist subjects such as neuroscience. A strong conviction about the needs and experience of people at work spurred a change of direction that took me towards corporate video and then to corporate communications.
A major strength is that I’m able to ‘cross-fertilise’ knowledge and experience from different disciplines: applying the principles of interactive user experience to audience research and communications design; or the approach of filmmaking to content strategy, group facilitation and narrative construction.
I’m both a strategist and a storyteller - an analyst, planner and rational thinker with a strong instinct for the emotional ‘hook’ and a taste for the unexpected. I like to make connections between disparate ideas and find the drama in the detail.
I work solo and as part of a team – this may include web IA specialists, social media experts, writers and filmmakers, animators, print and digital designers, as well as account managers and business development. My international background and experience of working in other countries means I bring a wealth of eclectic insights to my work.
