I was wondering if anyone can help me, we send out about 10K emails a week to our database of users. I am looking for an email service that is very simple to use and one where the emails won't just end up in junk. I have heard good things about dotmailer and Pure (though I am still waiting for anyone from there to come back to me!) and am currently using a different provider. I am not sure if it is my current provider, which is why none of the emails that we are sending out are getting opened, but I imagine that this might be part of the problem. Has anyone had a particularly good experience of the above 2 or Communicator? Or is there a fantastic email provider that I should try

I would recommend that you have a look through our Buyer's Guides, namely last years Email Marketing Platforms Guide.
We will also be producing our 2009 Guide at some point around Summer.

I have been using dotmailer for about 8 years, since the beginning of email marketing really. It is a great tool, very very easy to use, has all the features you could need. The new version (v4) has simple to use campaign builder, address book manager and all you need plus comprehensive reporting which has ROI and goal conversion etc, a survey builder tool and a microsite builder.
On top of which I know dotMailer do everything possible to ensure the highest possible deliverability - registered IP addresses, SPF and sender ID, good working relationships with hotmail, gmail et al. Also provide both a spam checker and a cheap inbox preview tool to help get designs right and deliverable.
Happy to talk offline if you want to.

Without trying to sell you anything, I think you'll find our system quite interesting. Can easily send a few million emails per month and has advanced features such as triggers (eg. send an email with a special offer on someone's birthday), and more. Yet it is very simple to use.
See a relevant demo of how simple it is: http://emarketingkb.naxtech.com/idx/61/090/article/
You can also find an answer to all your technical questions at the relevant knowledge-base at: http://emarketingkb.naxtech.com/
I hope the above help.

>> we send out about 10K emails a week to our database of users.<<
This looks to be more than funny- amounts start around 100k/night...
But seriously: have you done at least basic reserch on this topic?
Looks like not... OK just like the previous post: "Without trying to sell you anything"- look around....

I assume you have talked to your current provider about the issue with none of your emails being opened? Even some of the worst email service providers will deliver more than zero emails and your campaigns are small so should not be a big challenge. Sounds like may be the problem is with the tracking on open not working rather than delivery.
That said perhaps you have another reason you are looking to change - ease of use you mention.
dotMailer and Pure get shortlisted sometimes along with ourselves so feel free to make contact for a demo. http://www.smartfocusdigital.com/
We deliver campaigns from a few thousand to many hundreds of thousands, so you can have confidence on that and we have an easy to use UI,

I recommend www.constantcontact.com or www.icontact.com to my SME clients -- both are affordable, usable, offer comprehensive reporting for performance managemnt, include all sorts of list management/segmentation functionality and survey functionality. People sometimes find the support response less that speedy with iContact but both email marketing solutions boast hundreds of thousands of users...

Been through various issues with a handful of ESPs ..... my subjective view, in hindsight, was that Cheetahmail were the better of them.

Re the last post. Cheetahmail are certainly a well known ESP so should be a safe pair of hands.
We weren't one of the handful of ESPs to work with Kitbag or John Fitzpatrick. May be one day we get a chance :-)
