The site provides listings for the whole of the UK and will be going up against established players like Yell.com as well as recent startups such as welovelocal.

Users have a range of search options and can sort results by distance, limit results to a certain radius, ratings, as well as accessing user reviews, though I haven't been able to spot any of those yet.

The trouble with the results I have seen so far is the level of detail offered. It may just require time to build up reviews and information, but there is little information there to help me decide to visit a particular cafe or restaurant, for instance.

Recent startup welovelocal, though it does only cover the London area at the moment, has more detail, looks better, and actually has a number of user reviews to help you decide where to go.
