Yahoo! has signed a deal with mobile phone network 3 to carry its Go 2.0 mobile service on 3G handsets.

The portal announced the new version of its internet search and content application at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Tuesday; it lets users search for pages, directions, listings, news and more from a single interface.

3 customers in the UK will get the application, along with those from Italy, Ireland, Sweden and Denmark. Yahoo! has also announced deals directly with handset makers.

Yahoo! is touting Go 2.0 to advertisers looking to "connect with customers directly on their mobile phones". Its service to clients who buy sponsored search results includes a prebuilt mobile landing page and a campaign management console.
