Nokia launches mobile ad network
Nokia has
announced
the launch of a new advertising platform that allows marketers to plan and manage ad campaigns across a wide number of mobile phone configurations.
The Nokia Ad Service aggregates several mobile web publishers, including nokia.mobi, that can be sold to advertisers as ad space in a single package.
Wrigley's lauches Wii adver-games
Chewing gum maker Wrigley has launched a digital marketing campaign with a difference, rolling out a series of games on Nintendo's Wii games machine.
The company opened its CandyStand mini-games portal on the console's Internet Channel.
First launched in 1997, it includes a selection of brand-laden games like Altoids Sheep and The Great Flying Mintini. Availability on the Wii means players will be able to use Nintendo's innovative wiimote controller to interact with the features.
Inventor challenges Slingbox on patent claim
A Texan inventor has launched an audacious court case against TV-shifting hardware maker Sling Media, claiming a patent infringement.
Stuart Mershon claims the Slingbox, which uses the internet to rebroadcast TV content from a user's lounge to a PC or mobile phone anywhere in the world, infringes on a system he invented to transmit home audio signals to a remote speaker over wireless telephone networks.
Virgin Media launches, response mixed
Virgin Media was today unveiled as the new name for ntl and Telewest, with the new entity aiming to shake up UK consumer telephony, entertainment and communications provision with a quad-play offering.The cable company last year completed the £962m acquisition of Virgin Mobile, making Richard Branson a 10.7% shareholder in the firm, which celebrated today by firing a volley of press releases.
EU study predicts 400% growth in online content revenue
Revenues from online creative content across Europe will reach €8.3 billion (£5.5 billion) by 2010, according to an EU study. The spread of broadband, mobile and the adoption of digital gadgets will drive the growth.
The research, titled 'Interactive Content and Convergence: Implications for the information Society' assessed the outlook for the online content market, identifying growth areas and potential 'roadblocks' for the market.
Interview with Reevoo CEO Richard Anson
Richard Anson is the CEO and co-founder of Reevoo, an aggregator of trusted reviews for technology etailers.
Through its Reevoomark service, the company incorporates reviews from confirmed purchasers of products into sites such as Comet and Jessops, earning money on a CPM basis. After recently securing Series-A funding, it is also developing its own site into a social shopping network, and looking to expand into other areas of retail.

Gates: IPTV to be added to next Xbox
Microsoft boss Bill Gates has outlined his vision for the next 'digital decade', announcing plans to add IPTV services to the next version of the Xbox.
Speaking at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Gates announced that Microsoft will combine the Xbox 360 gaming device with the Microsoft TV IPTV Edition software platform, which he says should be available by the end of 2007.
Reevoo secures first round funding
Reevoo, the UK-based online customer review aggregator, has secured £2.5m in a Series-A funding round led by Eden Ventures .
The investment will see the firm expanding its Reevoomark service, which provides independent product reviews from confirmed purchasers to consumer tech sites such as Comet, Dixons, Currys, Jessops, Orange and Misco.
