Google - friend or foe to affiliates?

One of the questions we asked in the UK Affiliate Census (published this week) was whether or not respondents believed that 'Google was damaging the affiliate marketing industry'.

A third of affiliates (34%) agreed with this statement compared to 26% who disagreed.

uSuggest launches shopping comparison site

uSuggest is a social shopping site that allows its users to earn commission by reviewing, tagging and recommending products displayed on the site.

Users can tag and recommend products on the site, or add a link to their blogs, and earn commission on any sales the generated by these links. On the face of it, it looks a good way for bloggers to earn some cash.

Flickr launches new camera finder

Flickr has spotted a new revenue stream via the launch of its camera finder service, which displays the most popular cameras used on the photo sharing site.

Flickr is using the data from photos uploaded to the site to display the most popular makes of cameras and camera phones.

AGLOCO – AllAdvantage team launches new(ish) business

AGLOCO is a new startup from the founders of AllAdvantage, a site PC World placed at number five in its list of ’25 worst web sites’.

By all appearances, AGLOCO is essentially AllAdvantage 2.0, as the idea behind it seems to be exactly the same – users are paid to surf the net as long as they subject themselves to watching all manner of advertising.

We didn't care much for that business model first time around, but is AGLOCO a different beast?
