Pricerunner launches mobile service
ValueClick Europe is entering into partnership with mobile software provider Picsel to produce a mobile version of Pricerunner's website.
Customers can download the application free from pricerunner.co.uk, and will see a full colour mini version of the site with full functionality.
Interview with Reevoo CEO Richard Anson
Richard Anson is the CEO and co-founder of Reevoo, an aggregator of trusted reviews for technology etailers.
Through its Reevoomark service, the company incorporates reviews from confirmed purchasers of products into sites such as Comet and Jessops, earning money on a CPM basis. After recently securing Series-A funding, it is also developing its own site into a social shopping network, and looking to expand into other areas of retail.

Le Web 3: Second Life firms 'not yet strong enough'
Despite a raft of headlines about its potential as a shopping environment in recent months, Second Life creator Linden Labs has conceded that few of its resident stores are yet making fortunes in the virtual world."Most of the brands that have come in have not created a strong enough presence to create a significant business for them at this moment in time," Linden Labs marketing director Glenn Fisher told the Le Web 3 conference in Paris this afternoon.

Reevoo seeks first round funding to expand

is in the process of securing Series-A funding to help it expand internationally and into new vertical sectors.
The London-based company, which provides ‘real-world’ reviews to technology etailers such as Comet and Jessops, has recruited First Capital to advise it on the new financing round.
ValueClick buys Shopping.net
Online marketing outfit ValueClick has bought UK-based shopping comparison network Shopping.net in a £6.7m deal.
The move follows ValueClick’s acquisition of comparison shopping site PriceRunner.com two years ago and will see Shopping.net positioned alongside ValueClick Europe’s other online marketing services.
Online sales rise on 'Black Friday'
Online spending rose by 42% on ‘Black Friday' - the day after Thanksgiving in the US - according to figures from analysis group comScore.
Total US online spending for the first 24 days of November reached $8.31bn, a 23% increase over the same period in 2005. Black Friday saw a 42% increase on 2005's figures.
New local shopping search engine launches in the UK
AskTheLocal is a new shopping search engine that allows users to search for products in their local area, with the intention of directing customers to the offline - rather than online - store.
The site aims to emulate the success in the US of sites like ShopLocal.com, which reached 1.8 million visits per month just a year after its launch in August 2004.

A new kind of image search is being launched today by Riya, which will allow users to search for images using both text and images as queries.
Other image searches rely on text queries, which depend on the data attached to the image file. This is not necessarily a reliable way to search, which is where Like.com comes in.
And boy, the technology is stunning...
