At Google's annual I/O developer conference, an important new feature to Google Analytics was announced that's going to turn mobile marketing on its head.

I had an interesting email from an ecommerce site owner in Texas over the weekend, wondering why mobile outperforms desktop on his site for conversion rates.

While the mobile site isn't bad at all, it seems the problem is down to poor desktop performance.
Here, I'll suggest some possible reasons, but it would be great to see what suggestions you have for improvements as well...

As a content marketing agency, we are always telling people what a vital role content plays in driving all elements of your digital marketing, be it social media, email marketing, SEO etc.
The good thing is that most people get this now. We seem to have moved past the educational phase with more and more companies publishing fresh content on their websites on a regular basis.
What we wanted to demonstrate, however, was the significant impact that an increase in content output (that is still high quality and original) can have on some of the key digital marketing metrics, such as website traffic, search engine rankings and social media reach.

A well known and much discussed component of producing effective paid search campaign management is testing, with the ultimate aim of improving the performance of keywords towards a better ROI or a lower CPA.
There are a number of approaches to this that can be effective, though in my opinion we find there’s one specifically that provides real value for our clients.

UK affiliate marketing has gone a long way since its inception. It has become more mainstream, and altogether more complex.

When consumers search for things on their mobiles more than half usually intend to buy it, according to new research from Google and Nielsen.
The Mobile Search Moments report looks at why and when people use smartphones to search, the actions that result from these searches and how marketers can capitalise on every moment of the process.
Participants in the study were asked to log their mobile searches over a two week period in Q4 2012, which resulted in more than 6,000 mobile searches being recorded, and then follow-ups were conducted by Nielsen to see what actions resulted from these searches.

A recent study by Fast Web Media has yielded some interesting insights into multi-screening trends in the UK.
The report looks at 50 different UK brands and analyses their most recent 2013 TV adverts to see who is encouraging multi-screening. One ad per brand was watched and inclusions of URLs and/or any reference to social networks was recorded.
What is multi-screening? You can be said to be multi-screening when you are using more than one device (screen) at the same time.
For example, if you're watching a live sports event on TV and you're checking Twitter at the same time (like I was last weekend) then you are multi-screening.
