Clearly, finding the right frequency for emails is vital - emailing customers too often can put them off, while not emailing often enough can cause the same problems.

Google's Analytics traffic analysis web software has come out of beta and has added a number of new features.
The previous iteration of the service, which was rolled out in November 2005 after Google acquired Urchin, was plagued with problems but will now be switched off on July 18.

Yahoo! is paying thousands of pounds each to clients that claim to have been left out of pocket by discrepancies in its search marketing service.
Customers had filed a class action lawsuit in the US after noticing errors in the budgeting system used by Yahoo!'s Overture marketing platform.

Classified advertising community Gumtree has broken into the list of the UK's top 20 retail sites after strong post-Christmas growth.
The site, which started in 2000 and enjoys a strong user base Down Under, saw its share of visits increase 69% annually last month and 35% over the last six months, according to Hitwise.
