Lending Club, a P2P lending community on Facebook, seems to have found some early popularity among the social network's users.
Lending Club launched when Facebook opened up to widgets on May 24th. Since then it has approved 27 loans worth over $100,000, with $212,650 in lending due to go through in the next 12 days, according to TechCrunch.

Music download website We7 has struck a deal with indie record label V2 to provide content for its service.
V2 will make its back catalogue available for download on We7, including music from Bloc Party, Stereophonics and others. The label will also make tracks from new artists available on the site.

French search engine Exalead is now growing its user base faster than Google or any of its rivals.
The site grew its share 16.1% between April and May, while Google grew 0.4%, Yahoo! fell 7.1% and MSN was down 5.6%, according to XiTi Monitor.

Skincare products line Neutrogena will sponsor a whole character in the popular internet video drama Lonelygirl15.
The Johnson & Johnson company has inked a two-month deal that will add to the plot a 22-year-old Neutrogena scientist who helps lead character Bree develop a serum to defeat an evil organisation known as The Order.

Almost 50% of people that visit landing pages from emails will abandon the site in the first eight seconds, meaning a lot of the effort marketers make to get people to click on links in emails is wasted.
Silverpop's latest email study, '8 Seconds to Capture Attention' (registration required) looks into what makes an effective email landing page by studying the landing pages from the campaigns of 150 companies.

Just under four fifths of internet shoppers are happy with the retailers they use online, according to new figures from the IMRG.
The report found that the web was customers' preferred channel for two categories of goods - 64% of respondents preferred to buy books, DVDs and CDs online, while 56% preferred to shop online for travel bookings and tickets.

News Corporation is reportedly considering a deal with Yahoo! that would see the group transferring its social network MySpace to Yahoo! in return for a 25% stake in the combined company.
The Times is reporting that negotiations between the two companies are tentative, and may be under threat after Terry Semel's replacement by Jerry Yang as Yahoo CEO.
