Rupert Murdoch has told a meeting of Australian investors that MySpace would be worth $6bn if News Corporation were to sell it now.
The media giant paid $580m for the world’s most popular social network site last year, and Murdoch now considers MySpace to be a vital part of his media empire.

US online ad revenues reached a new record of $4.2bn in Q3, according to figures from the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB).
The report, conducted by PwC, showed a 33% increase in internet ad revenues from the same period in 2005, and a rise of 2% from Q2’s figure of almost $4.1bn.

When a YouTube clip featuring London-based PR firm Borkowski moving offices achieved over 10,000 views, you would be forgiven for thinking that it was a canny piece of marketing by the company.
Not so, apparently. PR Blogger.com reports that the PR firm denies posting the Benny Hill-style clip on YouTube.

More than 50% of households in the 25 EU countries now have access to the web, according to a new report.
The survey was carried out by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the EU, and the findings confirm the growth of broadband connections. The data is from the first quarter of 2006.

Despite falling broadband prices, customers' satisfaction with their broadband service providers has fallen by 9% over the last year.
In a YouGov survey of more than 11,000 broadband customers, conducted for uSwitch, Orange and TalkTalk were both rated bottom for the services they offered, even though both launched ‘free broadband’ packages this year.

Following my presentation at last week’s ECMOD event on email marketing, I noticed that most home shopping and e-tail email marketing strategies centre around offering discounts or promotions.
This is despite the fact that one of the major benefits of email marketing is that it is measurable. You can use this information to learn and further refine your communications.

I’ve always been partial to a good-looking font, preferably sans serif. Stuart Brown over at Modern Life Is Rubbish has compiled a few typefaces for the Web 2.0 crowd.
He has selected the following fonts, each of which is used by a 2.0 company logo, but can you match the company to the font?
