Maz Nadjm is the Founding Director of SoMazi, a specialist consultancy which monetises corporate social media and insight through awareness, technology and engagement.
Maz has lived and breathed social media for almost a decade, guiding organisations such as BBC Worldwide, Sky, Ogilvy Group UK, News international and Chelsea FC to launch, structure, develop, monitor and profit from social media activity.
Having breathed new life into countless organisations using social, Maz has been named as one of the world’s top 50 social media power influencers by Forbes in January 2012. Maz is also regularly asked to appear at seminars, conferences and on TV around the world to comment on the industry.
Involved in the social media sector since its inception, he set up up 2Bmates, one of the UKs first social networks in 2004, followed in 2006 by Rareface, one of the UKs first social media agencies.
He also devotes time to those just starting out and those who have reached the top of the social media game through his roles as a judge on the advisory board for the Shorty Awards, as a start-up mentor with Seedcamp and on UCL’s SMILE initiative, and as a member of the advisory board for both Social Media Week and Social Media World.
Maz believes every social marketing initiative should be driven at its core by Return on Investment. Whether it’s social enterprise management, engagement strategies, technology selection, or data insight, Maz believes that true success only comes through supporting a client’s bottom line.
