    Hi all,

I had a question regarding the Google Keyword tool which I was hoping someone could help with

With the previous keyword tool interface (now no longer able to access), Google presented a table of keyword search volume based on the previous month, but with the new keyword tool, it will only display average monthly keyword volume over the last year

Do you know if there is still a way to access previous months keyword volume?

    Thanks!
    Simon

    Hi Simon,

I hope I understand what you're asking correctly. If I've got it right, here's the solution:

    • use the keyword tool as usual (via the Opportunities tab in Adwords?)
    • make sure all the columns you want are visible inc. 'local search trends'
    • download the report as csv
    • open in Excel (etc.)
    • Bingo! The actual monthly search volumes are in the spreadsheet

I hope this was what you wanted to know...

    Good luck,

    James

    Hi James,

Many thanks for the reply - I've followed your guidelines and downloaded an excel sheet for each term which indeed, lists the actual monthly terms. The keyword volume for local search appears in the final tab.

However looking at the search volume by month (Oct 09 - Aug 10) the search volume seems to be very different (lower) than the previous google keyword tool interface when displaying search volumes by month?

Both reports are reporting on [exact] terms

Any idea as to how this would be?

    Simon
