Award-winning global games specialist Babel Media has appointed games industry veteran Keith Russell as European Sales and Marketing Director. Keith will have responsibility for all European business in each of the company's service areas and will head a team of six executives.
The appointment follows the company's continued expansion into new targeted global territories. Babel recently opened its first US office headed by Babel co-founder Ben Wibberley.
"I am thrilled to join Babel Media at this exciting time for the company. It has grown substantially over the past five years to become the world leader in outsourcing for the games community. Now I have a unique opportunity to help them develop into new areas such as mobile porting which is a hot topic for the games community right now," he said.
Previously, Keith was European Director at Discreet, the entertainment software division of Autodesk, known for its leading products, flame, 3ds max and combustion. Prior to that Keith was UK Sales Manager for rival 3D software tools supplier Alias/Wavefront.
A familiar face at shows and conferences, Keith has been working in the games industry for over 15 years, recently helping to create the world's first 3D mobile gaming contest for Discreet (www.3dmobilegamingcontest.com).
