Marriot International has come top in a usability report that includes eight of the world’s top hotel brands.
The report also looks at the onsite effectiveness and brand awareness of Holiday Inn, Radisson, Hilton Hotels, Best Western, Choice Hotels, Accor Hotels and Starwood Hotels.
As mentioned, Marriott International was the top performing hotel with an average score of 83%. Accor came second with 78% while Starwood Hotels was third with just 68%. The overall average among all eight hotels was 64%.
The Daily Telegraph has come out on top in a report that examined the UX of newspaper paywalls.
Also included in the survey were the Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times and The Boston Globe.
The report follows Qubit’s website analysis framework, which looks at elements of the purchase journey, personalisation and mobile.
This involves more than 80 criteria based on both the newspaper industry specifically and general best practice for websites.
As mentioned, the Telegraph came out on top overall with 72%, followed by the WSJ (69%) and FT (66%). The Times achieved the lowest score with just 56%.

Using a customised tool that scored 10 of the UK’s biggest insurers out of 100%, the two top performers both scored 76% while Admiral was the worst performer with an overall total of 59%.

Since launching in 2006 it has seen annual turnover increase from £100,000 to more than £15m in 2010.
As part of the company’s plans for global expansion it has begun to work on new attribution methods that give greater insights into the customer purchase journey, analysing generic keyword PPC campaigns.
It found that the generic campaign for the ‘gifts for women’ keyword had 120% higher ROI on a behavioural model than on a last-click model over a three-month period.
As a result, NOTHS achieved a 25% improvement in ROI across generic campaigns from a 20% increase in spend for the ‘gifts for women’ search term.
