About Me

Meghan R. Murray is President of Charlottesville, VA-based Stynson, LLC, an internet marketing and business strategy consulting firm.  With more than twelve years of experience in interactive marketing spanning start-ups to Fortune 100 corporations, Meghan provides counsel regarding all phases of website and software development, marketing and interactive media distribution.  Her prior work engagements have included the retail, financial services, real estate, petroleum, healthcare, food, media and fine arts industries, as well as experience in politics and policy.

Meghan earned her MBA from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, with concentrations in business strategy and marketing.  As part of her MBA experience, she completed project work at PricewaterhouseCoopers in London and Royal Dutch Shell plc in Germany and the United Kingdom.    Previously, she earned her BA in Government from the University of Virginia, graduating With Distinction, as a Member of the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society and the First Year Honor Society.  During her studies she also worked with the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service.

Upon receipt of her MBA, Meghan moved to San Francisco launching her career in online commerce.  She began in business development at two internet startup companies and quickly moved to a mass market retailer: negotiating and executing partnerships, affiliates and portals for the Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic brands of Gap Inc.  Her portfolio included 15% of online revenue for Gap Inc., including gains of 72% and 65% in consecutive years, and the creation and management of relationships with AOL, Yahoo, MSN, American Express, Amazon.com and others.

Meghan transitioned to Fannie Mae in Washington, DC, managing B2B web applications, with ultimate responsibility for the success of the largest grossing Mortgage Broker underwriting product in the market.  She also designed and implemented online revenue plans and established corporate financial metrics for online commerce initiatives.

Upon returning to Charlottesville in 2005, Meghan launched Stynson, LLC.  This entrepreneurial endeavor has yielded a diverse body of work including online marketing to Girl Scouts through a division of Kellogg’s, online fundraising for a not-for-profit hospital, marketing for the U.S. Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority, user experience for Consumer Reports Online, and website strategy and development oversight for several local companies.  In addition, she serves as an adjunct lecturer at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Over the course of her career, Meghan has also worked in several political and policy-related capacities, including a Press Officer in the British House of Commons and in fundraising and campaign operative roles in races for U.S. Senate and within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
