The London Digital Shorts will demystify some of the changes in the digital landscape and show you best practice in content creation, community management and LinkedIn engagement, ensuring you have a competitive advantage against others in your sector.
The 4 short, sharp presentations will cover how to master the change in digital and social media to further business goals, the 'how to' around community management, how to leverage your presence on LinkedIn for competitive and commercial advantage and storytelling techniques to energise your content strategy.

10am: Change - A World In Flux. Will Francis, Social Advertising Consultant at DDB UK, Co-Founder and Director at Harkable
The internet is changing constantly. Whilst many of us spend time trying to adapt, the real opportunities for marketing professionals are in this constantly shifting landscape. This talk explains the development of this flux and offers some key guiding principles in the context of marketing. Will Francis will offer some practical ideas and principles of how to master that change and wield digital /social media to further our business goals.

Roger will show you how to leverage your presence on LinkedIn for competitive and commercial advantage. He will show you how to seek out, engage and do business with new, potential and existing customers demonstrating the latest functionality and techniques.
3.00pm: Content strategy and storytelling. Tim Tucker, Content Strategist and User Experience Designer
Developing digital content is a lot like telling stories. There are scenes (contexts), characters (personas), narratives (scenarios), plots (tasks) and denouements (conversions). Like a good story, the best digital content guides, engages and persuades its readers.
In this session, Tim will explore the storytelling techniques that you can use to energise your content strategy. You’ll come away with fresh ideas on how to gain insights into your users’ desires and frustrations. You’ll discover ways to develop more effective solutions, learn how to communicate better with clients, colleagues and stakeholders on your projects – and ultimately have fun while you’re doing it.

Having worked at MySpace for three years, most recently as Editor of the UK site I left in June 2010 and founded Harkable which is currently working with leading advertising agencies on social media elements of above and below the line campaigns.
I'm an active figure in social media, was named by The Daily Telegraph as one of the most influential Britons on Twitter and write for BrandRepublic on the subject of social marketing.
At MySpace I oversaw the editorial and content on the site, produced a string of successful content programs and regularly hosted live video interviews with the world's highest profile music artists and celebrities.
Andrew is recognised as one of the UK’s leading trainers in digital and social media by helping to increase understanding in this area for multiple brands such as Kiss FM, Blackberry & Saatchi & Saatchi.
He is credited with creating and delivering ‘Social Media Fundamentals’ – the UK’s first social media course for secondary school students that was linked to GCSE study. He also played a role in launching two of the UK’s most influential media brands targeting the youth market: BBC 1Xtra and MySpace.

Tim Tucker is an independent online media consultant, trainer and presenter. He started his career in print media, working as a journalist and editor at Future Publishing across a range of specialist interest sectors, including video games, music making, computing and technology. In 1999 he became an online publisher and launched DailyRadar.co.uk (now known as GamesRadar.com), which quickly became one of the world's leading video games websites.
Tim went on to work as a senior manager in the customer division at Origin Publishing, which has since been bought by the BBC and operates as BBC Customer Publishing. Here he developed publishing media for a diverse range of clients including Waterstone's, HMV, Cineworld and English Heritage.
Tim went back to Future Publishing in 2004 as part of the senior management team heading up the newly formed New Media division. As Online Group Senior Editor Tim introduced a focus on user experience and usability testing, and integrated a user centred design approach to launches such as TechRadar, MusicRadar, BikeRadar and TotalFilm.com. As part of his role he also trained web editorial, marketing and publishing teams on all aspects of web publishing.
Tim now works as a web user experience and content consultant. He supports web publishers in producing websites that are easy to use, engaging and highly rated, and advises on all aspects of content production and community strategy.
