Having studied a broad number of marketing modules during my time at University in Glasgow, I became acutely aware of and fascinated by the rapidly evolving field of digital marketing. Once I had graduated from University, I was eager to secure a job which would provide me with an opportunity to learn about the wide range of disciplines relating to the marketing of goods and services through online channels. However, despite finding a range of potential digital marketing roles, I was disappointed to discover that despite my eagerness to learn and develop my knowledge, no companies were able to provide such an opportunity to a recent marketing graduate as the vast majority of advertised positions required someone with years of experience in the field! Disheartened by the employment market, I then discovered Econsultancy’s Graduate Academy in Digital Marketing which immediately stood out as an enormous opportunity for a recent graduate with a passion for the internet and an eagerness to break into such a fast paced, stimulating and dynamic industry. The academy provided me with exceptional practical skills and a solid understanding of the various key components of the current digital landscape, as well as a greater appreciation of the role digital has to play in the future of marketing. Consequently, as a result of my involvement in the Graduate Academy in Digital Marketing, I was offered a full time job at Econsultancy as Marketing Executive where I continue to utilise and build upon the numerous useful practical skills and wealth of knowledge that I was taught during my time at the Graduate Academy.
