About Me
I’m a Professional Marketer with 26 years experience in business development to PLC level, and 15 years experience in digital running a successful Web Design and Drupal Development Agency.
Often asked how I’ve beaten the 5-year itch three times over, I always reply that I’m very lucky working in an industry that evolves on a daily basis.
Keeping clients ahead of the game means not resting for a minute and taking the approach that every new job is the team’s best job yet really focuses my attention.
Although the agency is fairly mature now, I am very keen on the Deming principles of Constant and Never Ending Improvement (C.A.N.I).
C.A.N.I helped Japan become an Economic Super Power and this type of approach fits really well with an industry that’s evolving as quickly as digital.
My day-to-day role is primarily based around creating marketing strategies, big-picture stories and producing content for Websites and Social channels that’s designed to engage and convert client audiences.
I also consult on the use of Drupal, our agency’s preferred system to build Websites with a CMS and Social Media automation.
The industry continues to change at breakneck speed with the adoption of Social Media, Mobile browsing and the change in Google Search requirements.
I’m currently focussed on helping clients understand where the opportunities lie and I’m busy writing a number of authoritative articles on subjects that people can make sense of.
As for the future, I continue to monitor advances in technology for everything that's important, and I relish the fact that Content Marketing has come full circle in terms of strategic importance.
When I started my career at a London Advertising agency content was all you had.
30 odd years on, content is once again king, and hats off to Matt Cutts and the team at Google for driving changes in their own organisation to recognise this.
