Am working with a client on developing a video channel within their website - had been planning to use YouTube code as the back end player but given audience (parents and schools) then concerned that % of audience won't be able to see the videos in the channel. Can anyone offer any advice or suggest other suitable players?

I'd be interested too. We're currently looking at mydeo media manager (m3)and buto.tv but our requirements are fairly simple at this stage and I do not expect to be swamped by viewer numbers - both look scalable.

I'd actually be in favour of a more custom and fully-owned solution which will allow not only video streaming but also easy managemend and complete control over how it all works.  Bandwidth usage and visitor numbers (concurrent users) would be the main thing to look at initially before proceeding with anything.  Any questions, just contact me and I will be very happy to help if I can.

Hi Tony, i seem to recall Apple doing one but will need to dig out the details. Also try http://flowplayer.org/ which is open source and scalable.

Not sure why they are concerned that a majority cant see the videos, if it is a flash version issue, most players would also have this problem.

    Have you considered Vimeo?

Take a look at Vzaar - I believe they offer unbranded video players.
