I represent a public-sector healthcare research organisation which is in the process of becoming a commercial organisation. Our IP is both published documents and consultancy expertise, offered mainly as training services. We're interested in connecting with digital agencies with expertise in implementing commercial online strategies for licensing access, subscription and paywalls. Any suggestions for appropriate agencies?

    Hi Ilse,

We've done similar things before and we also have experience in the healthcare sector. At the very least I could offer some suggestions and food for thought. Feel free to contact me if you'd like to discuss further.

    regards,

    Denis

    Hi Ilse

Are you sure you want an agency? You might be better off with a platform provider who can also do the agency part and/or recommend an agency to work with.

Do you need help with the actual strategy/business case or just the actual design/build/implementation and ongoing development?

What you describe is very similar to what we Econsultancy do although we have added complexity around events, training, advertising etc. We've built all our own tech and have our platform in house.

You need to be talking to other publishers who've done this (like us) and I'd recommend getting involved with the AOP (Association of Online Publishers) or SIPA (Specialist Information Publishers Association) and there are shows like The Specialist Media Show (http://www.thespecialistmediashow.com/) which I'm keynoting next week where a lot of the relevant people are who can give you tips on suppliers/agencies/platforms.

Suppliers/Platforms like Sift Media, Magicalia Commerce, Abacus e-Media, Strategy Eye and so on would all be worth looking at / talking to I suspect.
