We are building out our SEO strategy at present. Over the past few months we have worked hard to ensure our site is technically optimised to allow our site to be fully indexable. In that respect we don't require any external expertise. We are however looking to improve the other key areas of SEO, namely:
· Content
· A link building strategy/program
Can anyone recommend credible SEO consultants that they have previously used and had good results with in the above two areas?
Thanks in advance.

Hello anonymous!
You may want to take a look at our Search Engine Marketing Buyers Guide which profiles 31 SEM suppliers. I would also suggest looking at the SEO suppliers listed in our supplier directory.
Hope this helps!

I would like to propose my own company but don;t know if it will be a violation of this sites T and C. As I don't want to sound like I am doing self promotion, I will offer my sugestions on an independent basis. I think as fa as SEO is concerned there will no shortage of companies providing the service. A simple Google search I am sure will return 1000's of companies in your area. In most cases I would not recommend selcting companies based on search engine placement, however for SEO I think you want to go for a company that truly knows this field. If an SEO company's website does not rank on the first page of Google themselves then I seriously doubt they will be able to achieve a first page result for your website.
I don't expect the SEO company yuo selectto rank on the 1st page for 'SEO' but at least some related long tail phrases to say the least.

Try Laszlo Horvath at Active Media. Their tagline, "You can't afford not to be found on the Net". Laszlo presents all over the world on SEO and really knows his stuff. , Recommendations here: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/0/91/a5a

Try Clickthrough Marketing. We've used them on SEO and PPC with excellent results on both.
