It was only released last Friday, but hackers have already found a way to get into to iPhone's master password.
Since the much-hyped release of Apple's latest gadget, hackers have been trying to understand how to activate the device with any sim card, instead of having to use AT&T, the exclusive carrier for the iPhone.

Music Station, a new service offering all-you-can-eat music downloads to mobiles, is reportedly planning to launch in the UK in October.
The Independent says Omnifone, Music Station’s owner, is in talks with Carphone Warehouse over a deal to preload the service onto new handsets.

Apple is looking to tap into social networking sites as an e-commerce channel after striking a deal to distribute music with Bebo.
From today, Apple’s iTunes service will be embedded into the Bebo website – allowing its users to buy music from artists that have a Bebo profile and whose music is available via iTunes.

Apple is said to be in talks with major Hollywood film studios about an online movie rental service. It already has tie-ups with Walt Disney and Paramount for downloads, and is now apparently looking to expand into rentals.
The FT reports that Apple is in advanced talks over the deal, and hopes to launch the service in the autumn. A film would cost $2.99 for a 30-day rental.

Amazon looks to be taking on Apple's iTunes by opening its own music download store, with rumours suggesting the service will be DRM-free.
According to The Independent, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has been in discussions with the four major labels to persuade them to allow their music to be sold without DRM protection.

EMI CEO Eric Nicoli and Apple CEO Steve Jobs have announced that music from EMI's back catalogue will soon be available to buy on iTunes without DRM copyright protections.
In a press conference held this afternoon, the pair announced the plans, in response to consumer demands for the ability to transfer music between different devices.

A product listing that appeared and was hastily removed from Apple's UK website has whet observers' appetites for a forthcoming hike in processor speeds.
Searches for Mac Pro machines on the Apple Store on Monday revealed a listing stating: "Now quad-core or 8-core processing power".

I have just given my annual lectures to some postgraduate students about what it’s like doing usability in the real world (i.e. the world where you can’t spend three months redesigning the perfect interface to a toaster).
And one of the issues I cover is why it seems to be so difficult to design usable products. It must be difficult - there are lots of clever designers and few really usable products.
