Brands and organisations are constantly being told that they need to become content owners to increase engagement and interaction with consumers. But as many are finding content doesn't come cheap. So how do you create a content rich experience without breaking the bank on viral videos and social games? Content curation may offer some of the answers. Consumers have been steadily moving away from creating content, to curating content, via services such as Storify, Tumbler and Pinterest, providing recommendations to their friends and followers of what they think is exciting, interesting and relevant. This introductory guide explores how both brands and consumers are aggregating the best social content to become part of the content ecosystem.

But how do you leverage what is potentially a hugely powerful content ecosystem to help achieve specific marketing objectives? Jon brings experience and expertise from the competitive world of travel and tourism, and from heading up the Visit Wales digital team. Using interesting case studies he will outline their approach to content led digital marketing, demonstrate the results of those efforts and discuss some of the practical lessons learnt. Learning that can be applied to any brand or business.

Katie King, MBA
With a weekly live drive-time Social Media Surgery on BBC Radio Kent, Katie King, Managing Director of Zoodikers, is recognised as an expert in the field of social media and digital marketing.
With a career spanning over two decades, Katie is an experienced strategist and practitioner. During this time Katie has advised some of the world’s biggest brands including Orange, O2, Kingfisher, BT, Harrods, plus hundreds of start ups and SMEs. Katie is invited regularly to speak at corporate events and international conferences.
As well as in-house and agency roles on Fleet Street, Katie was a Director at leading global agency Text 100 for 8 years, before setting up her first agency in 2002 and then Zoodikers in 2010. As a trainer, Katie delivers bespoke and group courses, both face to face and online, and also delivers courses for the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA), and previously the Social Media Academy.
Experienced in the online marketing industry, Kevin founded SEOptimise in March 2006. He split from the company in June 2012 to take over the London team, forming content marketing agency Quaturo.
Nick is a partner at business futures practice, Atmosphere. He has 17 years of helping brands to connect more effectively with consumers in the digital space – specialising in social media marketing and analytics, digital marketing strategy, online and mobile content – worked client, agency and media side.
Jon has over 14 years experience, both client and agency side, across public and private sector. He set up Cinch in 2004 - initially a marketing consultancy, but becoming part of a 'networked' agency team, services include strategy and planning, digital consultancy and supporting change. His sector experience covers travel, tourism, leisure, charity, events, software, apparel, fashion, online retail and B2B.
His strengths include strategic planning, integrated campaign planning across online and offline channels, evaluation and measurement. He brings strong leadership and extensive management and practitioner experience to everything he does. He is passionate about supporting positive change and doing digital better. Beyond planning and effective project management he believes success depends on paying particular attention to the people that work within and to the business – plus a good dose of creativity and a fair amount of fun.
Outside work and family his interests lay firmly in the outdoors – paragliding, windsurfing, snowboarding and biking being pretty much top of the list. Weather nerd at heart it all depends on the time of year and which way the wind is blowing!
