28 January 2013, London, UK -- Econsultancy (http://econsultancy.com) and new media age (http://nma.co.uk) today announced the launch of The Digitals (http://thedigitalsawards.com), a new awards program for the digital marketing and ecommerce industry. This is the first joint project between two complementary and respected marketing communities following the acquisition of Econsultancy by Centaur Media in July 2012.
The Digitals will celebrate the ‘best of the best’ in digital, combining the values of Econsultancy’s Innovation Awards and the nma Awards. Embracing the editorial integrity of the nma and Econsultancy editorial/analyst teams, these international awards will be supported by a renowned judging panel from around the world.
The Digitals will be promoted through sister brand Marketing Week as well as Econsultancy and nma. Supported by a global PR campaign and gamified leaderboard that tracks online chatter, the combined reach will give extensive exposure to The Digitals and to shortlisted and winning entries.
Econsultancy CEO Ashley Friedlein says: “Econsultancy and nma have both run separate awards in the past and we’re really excited to be joining forces to create a definitive awards program for the industry. We feel The Digitals will match the growing maturity of the industry.”
Award categories cover both industry and platform specific areas. There are special categories for best new technology, rising star (free to enter) and the overall Grand Prix winner. The deadline for entries is 13 March 2013.
