Democrat Barney Frank yesterday introduced the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act 2007, though he will face quite a struggle to get the bill through Congress.

Google has confirmed it is in the process of testing ad formats for video sharing site YouTube with the aim of introducing them in the summer.
Chief marketing officer Suzie Reider told the ad:tech conference in San Francisco the site was testing pre-roll and post-roll bumper ads, before and after video clips.

Joost, the P2P internet TV service launched by Skype founders Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis, has concluded a series of deals with major advertisers.
ClickZ reports that Joost has signed three-month contracts for pre-roll and overlay ads with firms including Coca-Cola, General Motors, Nike and Visa.

The Labour Party has appointed credit reference agency Experian to create a direct marketing campaign that will rely in part on e-mail.
The effort will reportedly see Experian create, build and manage a database of UK voters for use in permission-based e-mail and marketing campaigns.

dotMobi developer Andy Moore wrote a WordPress extension that converts posts written in the popular blog platform to display styles suitable for phones and PDAs.

SpinVox is a UK company which provides a range of voice-to-text services, primarily its Spin my Vmail service, which converts voicemails into text messages.
Spin my Blog, which SpinVox launched earlier this year, uses the company's patented Voice Message Conversion System (VMCS) to allow bloggers to post articles from their phones.
