Hi
We are currently looking in to the possiblity of setting up our own affiliate network for our site and have been recommended the use of affiliate netwrok software.
Does anyone know of an article that compares the different packages available or has anyone had experience with any of them?

Hi there.
Whilst it is possible to set-up your own network of affiliates this can be fairly unwieldy and difficult to manage, especially if you do not have alot of experience with Affiliate marketing.
It may be that you have been recommended to set-up an affiliate campaign to allow affiliates to help generate sales for you.
If this is the case it will probably be much less time consuming and easier to use one of the established affiliate networks, who will add a % to the commission you pay to affiliates as a fee.
There are a number of affiliate networks, with different networks being more effective in different markets.
Some of the big boys include Affiliate Window. Buy.at, Affiliate Future, Trade Doubler......
Hope this helps.

Your best route depends upon the sector you are in. I've been working in affiliate marketing for over six years and have experience launching in house affiliate marketing software as well as programmes on networks.
i'm facilitating a round table discussion on the subject tomorrow. Feel free to get in touch if you want to discuss in more detail

Hi,
Coincidentally I was about to post a similar request for a steer in terms of enterprise level affiliate software to run in-house.
We run a successful affiliate programme, which is a small part of our business, but our tech is reaching the end of it's capabilities as we force more functionaility into it.
Specifically I'm looking for two-tier tracking to enable affiliates to recommend and earn from other affiliates, the ability to reflect changes to commission payable on a monthly basis, some sort of affiliate star rating.
I know from my own research of affiliate networks and from discussions with similar businesses in our space that affiliate networks are not really geared up to our line of business.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
