Scammers have fooled thousands of British consumers into paying for non-existent summer holidays online, the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) has warned.
The Metropolitan Police has launched an investigation into at least five UK-based websites pretending to sell package holidays to European destinations.

Backed by lastminute.com founder Brent Hoberman and David Katz, head of Yahoo’s sports and entertainment unit, the site provides an online exchange for fans to buy and sell unused tickets to games.

I've been watching this story about Polo Ralph Lauren's ever-so-literal 'window shopping' for the past week, wondering if most people were thinking just what I was thinking.
Supposedly inspired by Spielberg's film adaption of Minority Report, Ralph Lauren has come up with a hybrid touch-screen shop window, where passers-by can shop by touching the window and selecting the items they see in the window.

Get some, get some – Google Maps is inviting local business owners to add their company listing to its maps alongside a printable coupon, which can be redeemed offline by consumers.
The move, a push to increase listings and increase reach among SMEs, is interesting not least for the offline focus.

Administrators of electronics chain Powerhouse have blamed rising competition from e-tailers after the firm closed its UK stores yesterday.
"Internet retailers and increased competition on the high street, coupled with the ongoing deterioration in the UK electrical retail market, has led to Powerhouse being unable to sustain its position in the retail marketplace," BDO Stoy Hayward said in a statement.
