I have just finished re-reading 'The Mythical Man Month' by Frederick P.Brooks Jr. The book is considered a classic in software engineering circles, but I couldn't recommend it highly enough to anyone involved in web project management (which, despite its creative elements, is also about software project management).

The book is very readable and talks less about processes and procedures and more about people management and communication. Considering the book first appeared in 1975, the core lessons are still amazingly valid today.

I'll leave you with just three Brooks-isms:
1. "Creativity comes from individuals not structures or processes"
2. "Adding manpower to a late software project makes it later"
3. "How does a project get to be a year late? ... One day at a time."
