Introduction to Internet Retailing (morning, 9th September 2009, London) Providing an overview of the market, strategy and planning, operations and logistics
The Analytical Underpinnings of Internet Retailing (afternoon, 9th September 2009, London) Measurement, analysis, insight, testing. Special consideration of creating a business-wide view. Our focus will be cross-channel CRM, collection strategies and placing data at the heart of decision-making
Internet Retailing and Multichannel Marketing (30th September – 1st October 2009, London) The multichannel world: store, catalogues, online, call centres, mobile: developing a customer-centric view across all service channels; customer acquisition, conversion and retention
Module 2: Product and Service Development in Internet Retailing
Products and Services for Sale (Category Management and Sourcing) (21st January 2010, London) Category Management and its applicability to internet retailing. How a strategic approach will influence sourcing, selection and presentation along with web-specific challenges, opportunities and business models
Shaping the shop (11th February 2010, London) Laying out the digital shop. On-site search, presentation, cross/up-sell and alternatives. Category Management, adaptation for the web; the customer's journey and monetisation strategies
Online Merchandising (24th February 2010, London) Covering advanced on-site search, sort orders and an introduction to advanced algorithms and 'personalisation' based upon more complex, multivariate and behavioural profiling.
Module 3: Analytical and Evaluative Techniques, run by MMUBS — 2 days (date TBC), Manchester
Year 2 — Postgraduate Diploma in Internet Retailing awarded on completion
Module 4: Internet Retailing Operations and IT Logistics
Operations (1 day, London) Project management methodologies and the concept of agile business; managing multichannel businesses, contact centres, warehousing and the importance of effective operations to the profitable Ecommerce business
Mastering IT Toolsets and Methodologies (1 day, London) Hands-on exposure to the most modern Ecommerce systems and components; main development methodologies and management approaches; aligning IT and the business; integrating service components
Logistics (1 day, London) Delivery planning and optimisation; managing outsourcing and partnerships; setting and managing service promises; integrating online and offline service points
Module 5: Strategy and People for Internet Retailing Leaders
Leadership Day (1 day, London) Growing and managing a multichannel business; managing digital teams. The day will be supplemented with evening presentation(s) from members of the Leadership Council and alumni networking time
Developing an Internet Retailing Strategy (1 day, London) Assessing the opportunity for ecommerce and multichannel; market/category/segment strategies; evaluating business models; setting commercial objectives and cross-channel planning
New Advances in Internet Retailing (1 day, London) Briefing sessions on emerging developments in customer behaviour, technologies, trends, business models and the competitive market context, supplemented with workshops and approaches to exploit these developments based upon learnings to date
Module 6: Developing Professional Practice, run by MMUBS — 2 days, Manchester
Year 3 — MSc in Internet Retailing awarded on completion
Dissertation based on the previous two years of study and your practical experience

In addition to the 10 days of classroom teaching we will be offering all delegates the opportunity to visit an ecommerce operation in person and see how the various departments work in practice.
