Almost two-thirds (63%) of US shoppers plan to do a majority of their Christmas shopping online this year, according to stats from LivePerson.
And mobile devices are set to play a large role in gift-buying, with 65% of respondents stating that they expect to use a tablet device as one of two primary devices for their Christmas shopping.
However it should be noted that all respondents had shopped online at least twice in the past three months, so it is biased towards frequent online shoppers.
And there isn’t long for retailers to get themselves ready for the Christmas rush, as 51% of Americans plan to do a majority of their Christmas shopping in November.

Shopping has always been a social experience, so it makes sense that social media will have such an impact on the holiday shopping this year. I will be really interested to see how Pinterest plays out, since the site has experienced such massive growth this year.
