The number of people using the web is increasing every day, but the adoption rate of RSS as a technology is still way down at 5%.
This is something that Daniel at Daily Blog Tips is looking to change.
Daniel has launched a campaign to have May 1st designated as RSS Awareness Day to help promote adoption of the technology (which is actually around 10 years old).
Of course most of the large blogs will be covering the event but the key idea is for the mainstream media to catch on and help explain to regular web users how they can improve their experience by using RSS.
A lot of them might already use RSS in the form of Google Gadgets and other feeds but by promoting greater understanding of the technology bloggers hope to help more people enjoy the vast number of feeds that are available.

Great idea. We use RSS feeds extensively in our mobile application listing most of the popular ones on News , Sport Entertainment, Jokes etc. RSS is great for mobile as it usually has no pictures so is fast. See www.myiota.co.uk. The more feeds available that we can add the better. ..
