Unsigned British band 7 Seconds Of Love has reached an out-of-court settlement with Coca-Cola over the soft drinks giant's use of their material in a TV commercial.
An advert for Coca Cola, shown in Argentina, borrowed liberally from the music and video for the band's song Ninja, from 2005, which featured kittens in ninja outfits bouncing up and down.

A demand from the US Department of Justice for financial institutions in the UK and other European countries to hand over data connected with online gambling has hit shares in betting firms today.
Shares in the world’s biggest online gaming group, PartyGaming, fell 9.8%, Sportingbet shares dropped by 3.4% and 888.com’s share price fell by 3.5%.

In what is reported to be the biggest ever online 'heist', Swedish bank Nordea has lost up to $1.1 million (£570,000) to Russian organised criminal using a 'tailor made' Trojan.
Up to 250 of the bank's customers were duped by an email which purported to come from the bank, encouraging Nordea's customers to download a piece of anti-spam software.

JP Morgan has released a study which shows that Paypal is still seven times more popular than Google’s rival system, Checkout.
Google Checkout launched last year with an aggressive challenge to PayPal, although it has encountered resistance from etailers that are reluctant to cede ownership of customers to the search giant.

BuzzLogic, a San Francisco-based startup which helps help marketers make sense of social media and identify relevant and influential blogs, has received $9.6m (£4.9m) in venture capital. The company has now raised over $11m in funding.

The two founders of online payments company, Stephen Lawrence and John Lefebvre, were last night charged with conspiracy in connection with what's being described as "money laundering", linked to internet gambling.
A FBI operation had discovered that Neteller was being used by Americans to place bets on sporting events via foreign-based internet gambling companies.

Wikiseek is a new search engine which indexes only results from Wikipedia and sites which are linked to from Wikipedia.
Wikiseek is the first product from SearchMe, a California based startup which has raised $5 million from Sequoia Capital, and plans a range of ‘long tail search engines’.

Tesco reported a 5.9% rise in its Christmas profits yesterday, ahead of forecasts, which the company has attributed to a strong online performance, as well as increased sales of organic foods.
Meanwhile, DSG Group, which owns Curry's and PC World, seems to be on track having reshuffled its multichannel brands last year, with online sales more than doubling as a result.

UK retailers' investments in security are helping to keep levels of online fraud low, according to Cybersource's third annual Online Fraud Report.
The report, carried out by research company Vanson Bourne, surveyed 150 UK retailers - 73% of which reported that losses from fraud have stalled or fallen as a proportion of revenue.

A new survey of 1,000 US adults reveals consumer attitudes to multi-channel retailing, with 80% saying that it is important to have a choice of shopping instore, by telephone, or online.
The results of the survey suggest that US retailers are failing to meet customer demands for effective multichannel retailing.
