Next month, Wunderloop is set to launch an online exchange for behavioural targeting-based advertising in several European countries, including the UK.
Backed by big name investors including Niklas Zennström, Klaus Hommels and Howard Hartenbaum, and in beta since March, the exchange aims to provide brands with more information on web users’ interests and improve the effectiveness and relevance of digital ads. Sounds good to us.
We spoke to the firm's Turlough Martin about some of the bluster surrounding behavioural targeting, what the exchange can offer to advertisers and publishers, and how it is preparing to extend its technology onto new platforms like IPTV.

Scott Switzer is the co-founder of open source ad serving company OpenAds. Launched several years ago as the tech arm of Unanimis, it has long been billed as a threat to online ad networks by giving publishers more power to pick the ads they display. Twenty five thousand of them are now using the site.
Here, Scott talks about OpenAds’ upcoming move into new formats, as well as its recent funding by a group of well-known VCs.

Not content with a huge windfall from the sale of filtering company SurfControl, Steve Purdham has linked up with former Genesis frontman Peter Gabriel to launch a new music downloading venture.
We7, as it is called, allows fans to download music for free, as long as they are prepared to listen to 10-second ads attached to each song. The tracks then become ad-free after four weeks.
We caught up with Steve to ask about his plans for the service, and what interest he has managed to generate from labels and advertisers.

A battle is looming between online exchanges for display ads, and Right Media CEO Mike Walrath will be in the thick of it.
Launched in April 2005, the Right Media exchange acts as a stock market for publishers, networks and advertisers, and claims to have more than 20,000 buyers and sellers using the platform a day.
