The internet is becoming increasingly indispensable for women, with over two thirds (66.1 percent) saying their lives would be disrupted if they had to go without the web for a week.
Burst Media's study of 1,800 women aged 25 and over found four out of five females go online between 7am and midnight.

Web traffic measurement agency Nielsen/NetRatings will reportedly scrap the "page views" metric in response to the growing challenge posed by dynamic websites.
Ajax websites and web-based videos mean content can be loaded with no web page reloading, so the firm will begin instead reporting the length of time users spend at audited sites.

More than half of internet users believe that brands should be engaging with them online, though brands need to play by the rules of new media, according to a survey.
The survey, Effective Online PR: Helping brands succeed through new media, was conducted by Shiny Red. More than 606 people were surveyed via an online questionnaire on Shiny Media's blog network.

Alarm bells will be ringing at MySpace UK after the News Corp-owned site posted a 300,000 drop in visitors last month, according to new stats from Nielsen//NetRatings.
The month saw MySpace’s unique visitors from Britain falling from 6.8m to 6.5m in May – only the second monthly drop it has experienced since November 2005.

Nielsen
has boosted its ability to track consumers’ use of mobile services with the purchase of market research firm Telephia.
The deal, expected to close by the third quarter, follows closely after Nielsen’s launch of a unit focusing on people’s use of mobile content services and the sector’s impact on established media behaviour.

Online advertising spend will grow faster in Canada than anywhere in the world over the next four years, according to a heavyweight new PricewaterhouseCoopers report.
PwC's Global Entertainment and Media Outlook, which looks at the international media industry between 2007 and 2011, forecast the amount of money advertisers spend online will grow to US$2.03bn (£1.02bn) by 2011.

Increasing online spend helped the UK ad market grow 3% to £4.2bn in the first quarter, the highest Q1 increase since 2005, according to new Advertising Association (AA) figures.
Only the outdoor, cinema, and internet sectors saw an increase in spending, with the web ad market growing 42% from the first quarter of 2006.

UK online retailers have widely differing levels of speed and accuracy when dealing with customer enquiries, according to a new study.
A test of leading etailers by Talisma found 45% failed to reply to customer emails, while only 47% of those that did provided "accurate and complete information" in their responses.
