Earlier this week I came across a link to Trendsmap.com. On the surface, it's just another program that incorporates a function of Twitter into creating another service. But spend a few minutes with the site and you will quickly realise it is so much more.

The Flickr iPhone app was released this week, with many of the features that are available on the main site, browsing photos as well as uploading and tagging photos taken on the phone.
We use Flickr for hosting the photos used on this blog, and to upload iPhone screenshots I've had the option of uploading via email, or plugging the phone into the laptop and uploading this way, which can take some time.

I'm hoping that the app can make this process a little easier...

The eagerly awaited Spotify app is now available for download for UK and European mobile users to download, for both Android and iPhone users.
The app allows you to sync playlists, stream music to your phone through a wi-fi connection, and best of all, to access playlists when you are offline.

I've been trying the new Spotify iPhone app out...

Twitter has launched a revamped version of its homepage, with the aim of emphasising the role of the site as a search tool, and appealing to new visitors.
According to Biz Stone on the company blog the aim is to demonstrate 'the power of Twitter as a discovery engine for what is happening right now
through our search and trends'.

Fashion etailer Net-a-Porter launched a mobile commerce app for the iPhone last week, allowing customers to browse and buy on the move.
The iPhone app displays what seems to be a limited range of stock, showcasing new arrivals and the retailer's magazine. I've been finding out how easy it is to browse and buy from the Net-a-Porter app.

It already has an excellent mobile version of its website, but FT.com is looking to improve on this offering with an iPhone app, released today.
The FT Mobile app is free to download and supported by advertising, though it does carry the same restrictions as the main site, allowing users to read 10 articles per month before having to cough up for a subscription.
