Several UK portals have formed a partnership to act as a distribution channel for large-scale voucher and discount campaigns.
The CouponNET service, created by online vouchering company Couponstar, will see it hosting ‘voucher galleries’ on third party sites and effectively creating a UK affiliate network focusing purely on freebies and discounts.

The Venice Project, the latest venture of Skype founders Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis, has been going for a week now and we received an invitation to try it out.
The P2P site aims to deliver an internet TV service which is as near to TV as possible, while adding the sort of social features you would get on YouTube or other video sharing sites. The service is currently being tested by 6,000 people.

StumbleUpon yesterday announced the launch of a new video service that will offer viewers a selection of videos from YouTube, Google Video and MySpace, based on their personal preferences.
StumbleUpon has until now been known for a browsing application which helps Web users discover sites based on the ratings of users with similar tastes. It is now applying the same idea to video. And it's pretty cool.

The Venice Project, the internet TV project from Skype founders Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis, has gone into public beta testing.
The Venice Project will stream TV to its users’ PCs, thereby avoiding the long download times of other internet TV services like Channel 4's recently launched on Demand service.

Channel 4 has today launched its online video on demand service, offering a wide range of programming for download up to 30 days after broadcast.
The line up of programmes on 4oD is impressive, with 128 TV shows available to download, from recent series like Shameless to classic episodes of Father Ted.

BSkyB has announced that it will work with Google in a deal which will help it develop its broadband products and services.
Initially, Google will provide a version of Google Mail using the @sky.com domain name, as well as a video-sharing service which will use Google’s video content tools.

CNBC yesterday unveiled its all new website, after ending its five-year licensing agreement with MSN Money. The site has many new features, with a range of video clips and market updates.
The site features a the usual array of video clips, including market news to extended interviews with business leaders. CNBC.com will show up to eight hours of live video each day, and already has around 15,000 videos for on-demand use.

A UK media company has launched what it calls the ‘first intelligent online video search site’.
Coull.tv allows users to search for specific moments within videos, click on and interact with moving objects while the video is playing, as well as adding tags and comments.

In a bid to turn the general public into amateur reporters, Yahoo! and Reuters have teamed up allow users to upload their photos and videos for use on their news sites.
From tomorrow, user-generated photos and videos will be displayed alongside news items on Yahoo! News and Reuters.com.
