says it has achieved promising results from early tests of transactional banners - ads that allow customers to make purchases without having to click through to an online store.
A trial campaign for satnav company Navman produced a 15%+ response rate on three motoring websites in the month up to July 10th, according to Fhlame.

US venture capital firm Bay Partners has launched AppFactory, a program that will invest in developers creating applications for the Facebook platform.
The FT reports that Bay Partners is looking to make up to 50 investments of between $25,000 to $250,000 (£12,000 to £120,000) to help developers build Facebook applications.

Google Maps has launched an on-site applets platform that could do for the mapping tool what Apps have done for Facebook.
Mapplets are mini web applications that can be bolted on to extend a user's Google Maps experience with a range of new functions, from petrol prices to Manchester's Metro system.

Internet radio station / social network / E-consultancy's favourite web app Last.fm has concluded a content deal with Sony BMG, which the company's extensive back catalogue available to Last.fm listeners.
This deal will give Last.fm, which now has around 20m worldwide listeners, the largest music catalogue of any online radio service.

Online fashion retailer ASOS has recorded some impressive results for the 12 months to March 31, 2007, and has seen sales rise by 85% over the last three months.
Year on year, ASOS reported a rise in profits of 116% to £42.6m, while pre-tax profits grew by 144% to £3.4m. In addition, its customers' average order values increased from £39.32 to £43.80 in the same period.

The internet is becoming increasingly indispensable for women, with over two thirds (66.1 percent) saying their lives would be disrupted if they had to go without the web for a week.
Burst Media's study of 1,800 women aged 25 and over found four out of five females go online between 7am and midnight.

Financial comparison website has been valued at £1bn in advance of the planned share offering on July 31.
The FT reports that Moneysupermarket plans to sell around 40% of the company's shares to pay off debts and release capital. Shares will be priced at between 170p and 210p.
