Now working as an SEO consultant and content strategist, I started off in advertising, working for many years at DDB London (formerly BMP DDB) on the Volkswagen retail advertising account. I made the switch in 2006 into digital marketing where I work with companies as a freelancer.
My principle client is Chevrolet Europe, where I do all manner of things related to the 38 markets and 44 websites we manage - training, strategy, communication, copywriting and content strategy. I designed and now run our centralised SEO strategy. I was responsible for driving forward Chevrolet's integrated search strategy and to that end (and working closely with Rina Patel from Chevrolet), we're currently running a test, managed by Performics, which involves real-time active bid management for generic keywords, based on natural search positions. We've done a lot of linkbuilding to get to the position of being able to do this at all. Rina, Sam Holt (from Performics) and I are talking about this on May 14/15 at the Adobe EMEA Summit in London.
At Opel Vauxhall, my role is more focused on designing an end-to-end digital marketing strategy with the aim of improving lead generation.
I've also completed a similar project for Dulux Paints.
I love what I do and am keen to share my experience, especially on international SEO strategy, content development and governance (which includes training). Education and Qualifications
Manchester University BA Hons (2.1) 1991, in German and Italian, with distinction in spoken German, which I still use almost every day.
I also speak adequate French and Italian and can read NL, ES, SE and PT sufficiently well to be able to check optimisation of keywords.
