About Me

Winton & Winton Limited provides advice on commercial, corporate, employment, intellectual property, regulatory and tax issues primarily for clients in the IT and Life Sciences sectors. With 16 years experience in law in the City and working with clients in emerging technologies I have advised clients from start-up/spin-out through formation, product development and testing (including clinical trials), development of intellectual property strategies, business development, funding and through to exit by way of sale and listing. I have a particular interest and experience in assisting IT and medical devices companies. I currently act for clients listed on NASDAQ, Fortune 500 companies, VC funded and privately funded ventures and start ups.

Education and Qualifications

My law degree (LLB Hons) is from Kings College London, and my MA is from Sheffield in Biotechnological Law and Ethics. I also have a postgrad diploma from Bristol in Intellectual Property Law. I was on the academic staff at Derby University and also provided courses at Nottingham University and for the Home Office. My professional qualifications are from De Montfort (LPC) and UWE (PSC). I trained partly in Milan at Croze Radice ed Ass.ti, and at Osborne Clarke where I qualified into the interactive media team. I was part of the team that opened up Osborne Clarke's Silicon Valley office. I have worked in house on secondments for Yahoo and for Cancer Research UK. I moved to Bird & Bird in 2002 and worked in Corporate/Life Sciences and then IP/Life Sciences. I founded Winton & Winton Limited in 2006.
