My stock-in-trade is a common sense high level strategic view of communications which spans many different communications disciplines and which tackles clients problems from an understanding of both their business and their customers. I am one of a small band of consultants who have worked across Advertising, Brand, DM, PR and New Media.
I have 27 years experience in Account Planning (Customer Insight to those not in the advertising business!). I spent 20 years of that in advertising at a number of UK agencies, culminating at a 7 year spell at Ogilvy & Mather during which I was Head of Planning for the UK.
Following that I spent two years with Wheel both introducing the planning discipline to New Media and as Head of Strategy.
I am experienced in all types of market research including usability and have taught Market Research in Higher Education (Anglia University).
I was Chair of the APG (Account Planning Group - www.apg.org.uk) for two years during which I was instrumental in bringing in new types agency to the APG and broading our scope from just advertising to encompass Direct Marketing, Brand Strategy and importantly New Media.
My current clients include ad. agencies (McCann Erickson, Ogilvy, Publicis), Direct Marketing Agencies (Ogilvy One, EHS Brann, Leonardo, TBWA/GGT Direct, dlcf) , New Media Agencies (Wheel/Foresight, glue, Modem Media, Good Technology, Reading Room), design agencies (Clinic) as well as working direct with advertisers (Unilever, Royal Mail, Norwich Union, BUPA, Nestlé).
