About Me

During my gap year I help start my family internet businesses. The businesses we started are called White Box (www.whitedotbox.com) and Homepages Friends (www.myhpf.co.uk). After my gap year I carried on supporting the family businesses whilst also studying e-Business at Liverpool University.

The idea behind the two businesses is that you have a Yahoo! search box and you fundraise by using the search box.

White Box focuses on creating websites with a search box on for charities, schools, clubs, weddings, parties etc. Anything that needs fundraising for then we can provide a website for them with a search box on. We can also provide search boxes with the organisations brand on it which can then be placed on corporate supporters intranet to help fundraise.

Homepages Friends is the same idea but is for individuals who want to raise funds for themselves. This has grown in the last 18 months to 400,000 users worldwide.

I am now working for 2 charities in London one called Teaching Leaders (www.teachingleaders.org.uk) and the other called GlobalGiving.co.uk

Teaching Leaders is middle leadership development program for teachers in urban schools in London. I am project leader for a new data collection system that we are developing.

GlobalGiving.co.uk is the UK branch of the successful GlobalGiving.com charity in the US. GlobalGiving allows a person to select grassroot projects that they would like to donate their money to. The site currently hosts around 500 various projects worldwide. I work on Social Media for GlobalGiving trying to grow traffic that is not directed from search engines.
