About Me

I am Head of eCommerce and Marketing at Astley Clarke.

We are an online luxury jeweller with a Showroom based at our offices in Edgware Road.

I have responsibility for the direction and trading of the website, and all marketing including Email, PPC, SEO, Affiliates, Retargetting and Social Commerce.

Astley Clarke sells imaginatively designed, fine jewellery available online for the new generation of luxury customers.

Previously I spent 8 years at Harvey Nichols where I set up and ran the online side of their business. I managed the day to day operations of the selling website and defined the strategy and future direction of online and how it integrates with the rest of the business.

I come from an IT development background early in my career supplemented by a brief sojourn into consultancy for Deloitte Consulting and have spent the last 14 years in Retail.

➢ Project Managed the installation of Oracle Financials for a department of the Ministry of Defence requiring strong negotiation skills and persistence. ➢ Customised the 4FRONT Systems Architecture methodology to allow the client to develop IS Plans. ➢ Co-ordinated the generation of a Requirements catalogue for a large power company. ➢ Produced an assessment report for OFGAS to determine the suitability of the client for entry into the second phase of the Domestic Gas Pilot.

Education and Qualifications

I have a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from Brunel University (1988, 2.1) and I am currently studying for an MSc in Internet Retailing from Manchester Metropolitan University and EConsultancy, the first course of it kind in the UK.

I have completed Years 1 and 2 and have postponed my dissertation to start in September 2012.
