About Me
I worked on Yell.com for 9 years between 1999 and 2008, in various UX-related roles and latterly with responsibility for search marketing too. During my time with Yell usage went from 600,000 users a month to over 10 million and revenue from just under £2m to over £150m a year. I and my team were at the centre of most major developments on the site with specific responsibility for crafting the user experience within the Yell.com search engine.
In 2008 I left Yell to set up Firehorse Digital, an online marketing and web strategy consultancy. In the first year of operation, we have helped clients achieve top rank in Google results and doubled an ecommerce site's conversion rate, as part of a wider site development and management that also saw its revenue rise by nearly 200%.
We offer a free site-appraisal service and are always happy to answer questions on online marketing or web strategy.
