Hi, I'm not sure how seriously anyone will take this but I really hope there's someone out there kind enough to share some advice!
I'm 23 years old and have recently had what I consider to be a fantastic idea for an iPhone application. I have been looking into how to protect my idea but the simple fact is that although my idea is reasonably detailed, I have no clue as to how to create the application or get it up and running and on the market.
I've searched high and low for some sort of solution to this problem but now am consulting forums such as this for someone to help me!
I do believe this idea would not only be extremely successful, but would make a very positive impact on the social and dating lives of most of the public.
If it's a great idea, you need to get in touch with an iPhone application development company. You then have two choices, pay them to build it for you, then go to Apple and get them to help you market it, or speak to the development company in question, and see if they're willing to give their development time in exchange for a share of the idea.
It's always better to keep complete ownership of any idea, but to do that you'll have to invest some money into it. Remember to get anyone who your speaking to about it to sign a non disclosure agreement first, so they can't steal the idea. They're not water tight by any stretch, but they are a good start.
Hi Katherine, we can definitely help you with this. We love great ideas! We think we're the ONLY specialist iPhone app dev agency in UK - we don't do anything else. We've also been doing it since the very start and were specialists in Apple O/S development before that. We mostly work with leading brands and we've got some leading apps in the store and loads more on the way, many of which are featured by Apple. I'd love to introduce you to our CEO who will discuss your idea with you in confidence. We are happy to help you evolve your idea too. Saman gives good advice - we're happy to sign a non disclosure agreement ... although any agency worth their salt wouldn't steal an idea because their reputation rides on it ;-) If we can't help we can point you in the direction of someone who can!
