There are many factors to weigh up when identifying which key terms to use as anchor text. Of course there are the main key terms that are most relevant to your product or service, but these are not neccesarily the ones to focus on.

It is always worth doing a bit more initial research into what the conversion rates of specific products or categories are like, and analysing average order values and typical ROI etc.

This will give you a clearer picture on which terms will actually get you the best return, rather than focusing solely on the terms with the highest search volume.
