The State of Digital in MENA report, published by Econsultancy (and supported by ArabianBusiness.com), looks in detail at use of different traditional and online marketing channels in the Middle East and North Africa. The report also looks at how companies are using social media for marketing, how businesses are measuring marketing effectiveness and examines the barriers to digital marketing and e-commerce in the region.
The Online Lead Generation Report (B2C), produced in association with lead generation specialist Clash-Media, provides a detailed overview of how companies are using the internet to generate leads for their consumer-focused businesses. The research, supported by the IAB UK and the Performance Marketing Association (PMA) in the US, contains insight into budgets for online lead generation, perceived benefits, and the use of online and offline channels to generate consumer leads.

I'm shopping around for suppliers who can provide a simple e-commerce site for under £10k. (The budget's not going to increase so please don't reply saying that it'll be worth spending more.) Any suggestions?

Hi Chloe,
I've worked in-house or consulted on e-commerce projects for several leading companies including Halifax, Zubka, TrustedPlaces, Songkick, DesktopLawyer and Sweatshop among others.
With a bigger budget you could afford to build your own, but given what you said it's probably not the best approach.
There are several tried and tested, cheap or free e-commerce platforms available, so you could spend the majority of your money on customising the design and functionality to match your requirements, rather than reinventing the proverbial wheel.
Being a search marketing consultancy rather than a traditional design agency, means that we can help it to rank well too. More to the point, as a result of our search marketing work we have partnerships with several local web design agencies and have a team of freelancers too, so can work with whichever development route best fits your budget.
Some, but not all, platforms are SEO friendly which is worth bearing in mind from the start, as it the ability to cross sell, search, sort and filter effectively and integrate email and PPC campaigns, vouchers and associated marketing strategies.
I'd be happy to discuss your requirements in more detail and can be called on 07956 990 216 or by email to anthony@marketappeal.co.uk.
Thanks,
Anthony Sharot

hi, Chloe, how are you?
could you post some more detail? Depending on your requirements you may even be able to cut that budget by around £10k.

Hi Chloe
We provide tailored e-commerce solutions, that are linked to our web manager product. Would be very happy to look at your specific requirements and provide a proposal for an appropriate e-commerce platform. It is quite likely that we would be able to deliver a solution for under £10k, but clearly depends on the complexity of your requirement.
