Anyone know of an automated serialised email newsletter app?
I found one that deals with RSS but not email. http://www.feedcycle.com/
I am looking to set up a "weekly tip" service for a particular product of ours. It would have 2 years of tips (104 tips/weeks). It needs to be able to handle unsubscribes and if possible an api to add new subscribers.
Does such a thing exist or will i have to get it built?
Thanks,
Alan

Hi Alan,
I would suggest Aweber . They seem to offer the best service and lots of features at reasonable cost. I tried lots of free solutions before choosing this service but none of them lived up to my expectations. I think they have a free trial on at the moment so have a look. http://www.aweber.com/?220034. I believe the type of service you are looking for is also known as "evergreen autoresponders" so if you havent searched for that term yet its also worth a try.
Hope that helps

One simple way of doing it is:
- set up a wordpress blog
- use feedburner to manage the RSS & send out emails each time the blog is updated
- load up your posts for the next 2 years using the wordpress 'timestamp' feature
Feedburner automatically manages subscribes/unsubscribes & makes the feed available via both RSS & email.Hope that helps!

You could look at awebercom. It was recommended to me and seems good. I am currently setting up a campaign on it but it hasn't gone live yet.

Our digital marketing platform, Traction (www.tractionplatform) allows you to set up a recurring email broadcast which automatically updates the mailing list to exclude anyone who has unsubscribed since the last email newsletter was sent out.
Traction also allows you to set up a template for this email newsletter which could grab content from an RSS feed, thereby allowing you to update the email content from a location external (eg your CMS) to our platform if you wanted.
Our platform will automatically manage unsubscribes and has a number of APIs including one to add customers (eg from a web registration form)
Given your tip service, you may also be interested to know that within the same platform, Traction can set up SMS alerts triggered by RSS feed updates and emails can be triggered when customers meet certain criteria (eg. a week after registering, 3 days after having clicked on a link in an email).
Happy to discuss furthe if you think it beneficial.
