Migrating content is a key part of any CMS implementation project and yet there isn't much information in the key resources . In the CMS report from www.cmswatch.com XML Abstraction is presented as the way forward and in Bob Boiko's CM Bible the advice is to ensure that source content templates match destination templates.
While both these points are of value are they saying that if I have 10,000 pages of content to migrate (documents, files, web pages etc) I have to cut and paste them all?
I am keen to have a conversation with anyone who is setting out on a CMS implementation project with large volumes of content to be migrated. At my organisation (www.marcat.com/powerbuild-for-cms) we think we have developed a unique way but I am keen to understand how others are planning to do it?
